Lenovo is expected to launch several new ThinkBook notebooks with screen sizes ranging from 13.3 inches to 15.6 inches in a month or two. The laptops will have prices ranging between $549 and $939.
Of the 8 upcoming models, 5 will have 11th generation Inter Core Tiger Lake processors. The other 3 laptops will have AMD Ryzen 4000U “Renoir” chips inside.
One of the key highlights of these laptops will be their super thin and light body. Even the 15 inch Gen 2 ThinkBook will be thin and light for its kind. Another interesting feature of this laptop is that it comes with optional integrated wireless earbuds. There is a slide out tray on the front right side of the laptop for keeping the earbuds when they are not in use. An interesting feature of this arrangement is that the ear buds will charge automatically. The battery can power the earbuds for only about 2 hours when they are used at 70% volume, so obviously they will need frequent recharging and this docking feature makes it easy. The earbuds support touch controls and there are also dual microphones for noise cancellation.
Other specifications of ThinkBook 15 Gen 2 are:
HD display: 15.6 inch (optional touch display)
Weight: 3.75 pounds
Thickness: 0.74 inches
Processor: up to Intel Core i7 Tiger Lake processor
Graphics (optional): NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics
Memory: up to 40GB of DDR4-3200 dual-channel memory and support for up to two SSDs or a single SSD and a hard drive.
The laptop is likely to hit the market in November for prices starting from $569. The AMD version of the laptop has similar specs and a $549 price tag but it does not have the wireless earbuds.
The 13.3 inch ThinkBook Gen 2 with Intel processors will start at $829. The AMD version of this laptop is cheaper by 100 USD.
The 14 inch Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga is a convertible laptop with Intel processors and prices starting at $879.
