PROCESSOR AND CHIPSET:- THE IMPORTANT THING

Samsung Galaxy F41 is powered by Exynos 9611 processor Octa-core (4 x 2.3 GHz Cortex A-73 and 4 x 1.7 GHz Cortex A-53)processor and it runs Android 10 with ONE UI 2.0 at top. The smartphone has Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.

Now for people who do not know what the Exynos 9611 SoC is capable of, let me tell you that the chipset is capable of carrying out small day-to-day activities, but when it comes to heavy gaming and video editing, Galaxy F41 is not your choice because the processor gets heated very quickly when it is subjected to heavy performance which causes throttling and the phones struggles to carry activities.

But don’t get me wrong. What I mean by heavy gaming is playing PUBG and ASPHALT at their highest settings possible. Doing so will result in frame drops and lags which will reduce the gaming experience. Both PUBG and ASPHALT are playable with this device but you will have to tolerate the frame drops. There are many smartphones in this price range which pack processor powerful than this; but processors were never the biggest strength in Samsung mobiles, they were the cameras, displays and battery.

The phone is expected to provide ANDROID 11 updates. The UI of this smartphone is clean with no bloatware and malicious apps.

Display:- Excellent Content streaming Experience

Samsung Galaxy F41 has a 6.4 inch FHD+ sAMOLED infinity u display with 403 ppi(pixels per inch) and 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. The phone has a 19:5:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 84.1%. It offers 420 nits peak brightness. The infinity u cut-out at the top just disappears while streaming videos. The display is one of the best at this price.

The smartphone has Corning gorilla glass 3 protection in the front. The back of the phone is made from plastic which will outlive accidental falls (That’s where plastic beats glass). However people who have previously used mobiles with glass back will find it a bit uncomfortable as the in-hand feel that the glass provides is lost. Anyway they are not much important aspects to consider while buying a Smartphone in the under 20K Rs. price segment.

Cameras:- Awesome photos clicked!!

Cameras are one of those areas where Samsung focuses. Galaxy F41 has a triple rear camera set-up comprising of a 64 MP f/1.8 primary camera, a 8 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera with a field of view 123 degrees and a 5 MP f/2.4 depth sensor. It is the depth sensor which is going to bring life into your photos by creating a sense of depth and professional background blur effects. The ultra-wide angle camera is the best in this price and is better than any other smartphone in the market. Samsung provides its customers with the best ultra-wide angle lenses and lets them capture all the details at its best clarity and dynamic range. The post-processing of this smartphone is great. You can see Xiaomi smartphones in the market providing 64 MP cameras but they fail to produce the best results when compared to Galaxy F41. This is because Samsung has well optimized its processor which post-processes the image very well and displays the output.

Many people have a misconception about cameras that megapixels are the most important thing when it comes to photography. Let me clear your misunderstanding and tell you that it is the Image Signal Processor (ISP) that matters and not the megapixels. Megapixels provide a better resolution to your images which will prevent pixels from tearing when they are zoomed in. Pixel count does matter but they are secondary.

Funfact:- If megapixels were the highest priority then professional photographers would boycott DSLRs (they have less MP count) and buy smartphones.

The smartphone boasts a 32 MP selfie camera in the cut-out at the top center of the display. The camera quality is great and selfies look really good with good amount of details, dynamic range and sharpness. Light exposure is well maintained.

Both the front and rear cameras allow 4K video recording @30 fps and 1080p video recording @30 fps. The image is not optically stabilized.

Single Take:- Multiple outputs

This feature of Samsung Galaxy F41 is going to get you crazy because the single take option has made photography much easier. Consider a situation where you want to click multiple shots but the moment will last for only a few seconds; at that time single take will help. Hold the single take button for 10 seconds and the smartphone will provide 10 different outputs (7 photos and 3 videos). The smartphone uses its artificial intelligence and displays the best moment to the user. It also applies special effects to the photos like hyper lapse and boomerang. The single take feature is a plus point that Samsung Galaxy F41 packs when compared to other non-Samsung mobiles in the market. As I stated earlier that Samsung specializes in Camera and battery though it might be a little weak in performance.

Battery:- Monster Battery

Samsung Galaxy F41 packs a 6000mah monster battery which will get through one and half days of heavy usage. It supports 15 W fast charging which completely charges the smartphone from 0 to 100% in 2 hr 40 mins (160 mins) and the battery is Li-ion non-removable battery. The Smartphone supports reversible charging meaning that it is a power bank in itself and can be used to charge other devices.

The company has advertised that the Smartphone provides 48 hrs of calling, 26 hrs of video playback, 21 hrs of browsing or 119 hrs of music playback. These values may change as the tests were performed under ideal conditions and the Smartphone is expected to provide battery back up less than the mentioned values.

Storage and Memory

Samsung Galaxy F41 comes in two storage variants; one with 64 GB and the other with 128 GB of onboard storage. The storage is expandable upto 512 GB via microSD card. The storage is based on UFS 2.1. The smartphone has 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

Connectivity and Sensors

The Samsung Galaxy F41 is dual sim which supports Dual-standby feature. It equips a wide range of connectivity options including :-

Wi-fi :- 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-fi direct, hotspot

Bluetooth :- 5.0, A2DP, LE

GPS :- With A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS

Radio :- FM Radio, RDS, recording

USB :- USB Type C 2.0

Galaxy F41 has fingerprint sensor (rear mounted), proximity, gyro, accelerometer, magnetometer (compass).

Sound

The Galaxy F41 has a 3.5mm jack at the bottom of the mobile and the Smartphone has loud speakers.

The dimensions of the phone are 159.2 x 75.1 x 8.9 mm and it weighs 191 grams. The phone is a bit heavy due to the large monster battery that it packs.

Bottom Line

Samsung Galaxy F41 is a perfect choice for all those buyers who are searching in the market for a phone which offers decent specs at a low price. The smartphone is best for photography and will also get you through the day without having to charge it twice. If your priority list includes intense gaming or video editing then Galaxy F41 is not a perfect choice.
