Points of difference: Who is the Winner
The Galaxy M51 has a better display with sAMOLED+ panel whereas Vivo V20 has an AMOLED panel. sAMOLED is the upgraded version of AMOLED and sAMOLED+ is the upgraded version of sAMOLED. The display on the Galaxy M51 is very thin when compared to an AMOLED display panel on the Vivo V20 and consumes relatively less amount of battery and is more brighter. In comparison, the colors on the Vivo V20 look a bit dull. When both the displays are compared side by side the Galaxy M51’s display looks way better and shows more brighter colors.
The Vivo V20 has a better peak brightness than the Galaxy M51 and beats the Galaxy M51 in brightness when indoors by slight amounts. This means that you can make the dull colors on the display look brighter by increasing the brightness to 600 nits; but it will drain enough power from the 4000mAh battery. When the brightness was tested under harsh light conditions the Samsung Galaxy M51 was the clear winner though the numbers are more on the Vivo V20.
OS and UI
Vivo V20 is one of the very few smartphones which run Android 11 out of the box and also has its Custom Funtouch OS 11 on top of the Android OS. A useful feature of the Funtouch OS is that enables the user to clone any application and lets them use the same application in two different windows with a different account on both. The applications of this feature are many. Consider a situation where you want to browse the social media(say Facebook) with two different accounts at the same time, App Cloning will help you do that very easily and effectively.
The Samsung Galaxy M51 runs Android 11 and will get Android 11 updates soon. The UI will get updated to One UI 3.0.
The galaxy M51 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core processor. The G stands for gaming and this separates it from the Sd 730 processor. Though both the 730 and 730G SoC have the same Adreno 618 GPU, Qualcomm has confirmed that the Sd 730G has a 15% greater boost in the GPU performance than the Sd 730 SoC.
Verdict: Which is better
An Tu Tu benchmark shows that the 720G processor shows better performance than the 730G in real life resembling tests. It is true!! It can be seen that the 730G processor gets heated a bit faster than the 720G SoC and shows slight throttling and frame drops earlier.
But while editing videos on the 6GB RAM variant of Galaxy M51 and the 8GB variant of Vivo V20; the Galaxy M51 exported the video really quickly whereas the Vivo V20 took about 10 seconds extra to export the same file. So, it can be seen that Samsung has a better optimized processor and RAM than the Vivo V20 and is not inferior to Vivo V20 in performance. bot the smartphones show great performance and it both show varied performance levels depending on the task.
Bot the smartphones are good for games like COD and ASPHALT and both show the same settings. Even after long sessions of gaming both the smartphones became warm to a very small extent. This means that both the smartphones are good for gaming and Samsung M51 is better in editing and exporting videos.

The final Verdict
To make it very clear let me tell you that Galaxy M51 produces human images which look more natural and eye pleasing whereas the Vivo V20 captures images which have a white skin tone which does not look good in every scenario. Moreover natural skin tones are better when it comes to editing photos. Both the smartphones have their own software features which are special. Videos captured with the Galaxy M51 look more better because of the image stabilization which is not done in Vivo V20.

The Galaxy M51 is the first Indian smartphone to pack 7000mAh monster battery which lasts about 2 days and comes with a 25W fast charger which completely charges in 2 hours. It is obvious that the large battery will make the phone a bit heavy and bulky, but the Samsung has perfectly distributed the weight and does not feel that heavy.
the Galaxy M51 supports reverse charging meaning that your smartphone can be used as a powerbank on the go. The USB type-C to C cable is given in the box for reverse charging.
It has a 4000mAh battery which might last a day depending on your usage. The 33W flash charger completely charges the smartphone in an hour.

Since the Galaxy M51 supports reverse charging there is a USB Type-C to C cable in the box while the Vivo V20 does not have it.
Samsung Galaxy M51 has no haptics feature whereas the Vivo V20 has the haptics feature and gives average haptic feedback. Haptics is a feature which makes the keyboard on your smartphone or any other app icon in the UI feel like a button. When a key, link or icon is pressed the motor inside the smartphone creates a vibration which is called Haptic Feedback. This kind of fells great while typing and doing such stuff.
Multimedia and others
Though both the mobiles have loudspeakers, the Galaxy M51 has a bit louder volume than the Vivo V20. To be honest the sound quality of both the smartphones are below average and you will surely need to plug in your earphones to get the most out the audio. Sensors are the same on both the smartphones with a single difference that the Galaxy M51 has side mounted fingerprint scanner whereas Vivo V20 has in-display optical fingerprint scanner. The side mounted scanner is quicker than the in-display one.
I personally recommend the Samsung Galaxy M51 because it has a way better Display, equivalent performance, large battery and excellent cameras. It is true that Vivo V20 runs Android 11 out of the box but the galaxy M51 will soon receive update and get Android 11 too. The Funtouch OS 11 is really fun and offers many customization features. In terms of display Galaxy M51 is better, in terms of performance both are equal because of the better optimization and RAM management on the Galaxy M51. In terms of photography/videography; Galaxy M51 produces more natural photos with more details whereas the Vivo V20 whitens the skin tones and thus looses some of the details from the image. Selfies are more beautiful in the ones captured from Vivo V20. In terms of battery life, Galaxy M51 has no competitor in the market for now. Vivo V20 beats Galaxy M51 in aspects of relatively less importance like better in-hand feel, Bluetooth 5.1 and in-display fingerprint scanner. if you found any feature in the Vivo V20 that Galaxy M51 lacks then you should towards the Vivo V20 for sure.
Individually both the smartphones are great but the Galaxy M51 offers a bit more specs at the same price range. The Vivo V series is a little over-priced while the M51 is perfectly priced.
