The Xiaomi Mi 10i is taking down other companies in the market with its 108MP flagship camera sensor. No doubt, it is currently the photography king in the mid-range price segment. Combined with its large 120Hz display and the power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G SoC, things are special with this new budget smartphone. Offered in three colors- Pacific Sunrise, Midnight Black, Atlantic Blue the 5G phone is priced Rs. 21,999.
Here’s the list of the offerings from the Chinese company.
- 6.7 inches IPS LCD Display
- Android 10 MIUI 12
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC
- 4820mAh battery / 33W fast charging
Display and Body Design
It features a 6.7 inches IPS LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display allows HDR10 media consumption and has a 395 ppi density, 84.6% screen-to-body ratio and 450 nits (typ) brightness. The in-hand feel is premium, thanks to its glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and the back. The Mi 10i weighs 215g and its dimensions are 165.4 x 76.8 x 9 mm (6.51 x 3.02 x 0.35 in).
Performace and UI
Powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 570 & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 570) 5G SoC the Xiaomi Mi 10i runs Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top. The SoC which is based on 8nm architecture is supported by the Adreno 619 GPU.
The Quad camera array boats a 108MP f/1.8 primary shooter, a 8MP f/2.2 Ultra-wide angle shooter, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth and macro sensors. The 108MP does its job perfectly and pixels look clear even on zooming to its fullest. The Ultra-wide angle lens has a lesser field of view (120 degrees) and captures less. The selfie camera on the front is not that surprising and is a 16MP f/2.5 single shooter. Colors look great on photos clicked from both the front and rear cameras.
The rear camera captures 4k@30 fps, 1080p@30/60/120 fps and 720p@960fps. The front camera however does not record 4K and has a max of 1080p@30fps. Videos recorded with the rear cameras are electrically stabilized through gyro-EIS technology.
It comes in two configurations:- 128GB+6GB / 128GB+8GB. The storage is UFS 2.2 expandable upto 512GB via dedicated microSDXC slot. The RAM is LPDDR4X.
The Xiaomi Mi 10i packs a 4820mAh battery with a 33W fast charger in the box which completely charges the phone in less than an hour. The battery lasts a day on a single charge after moderate usage involving an hour or 2 of gaming, social media browsing, multimedia and Netflix.

Is Xiaomi Mi 10i Worth Buying?
Well, its a big yes from my part. The offerings at this price point are worth considering. One of the best cheapest 5G smartphones in the market. If you love photography then Xiaomi Mi 10i is your way to go. The detail in the photos is consistent in low-light conditions even without night-mode. The Qualcomm Sd 750G is a powerful chipset. However, being a new chipset companies will surely take some time to optimize their software with it. Well that will most probably be happening by the next update. For some of you, the IPS LCD panel sucks, well the IPS LCD panel on the Mi 10i is bright and looks great with HDR10 120Hz refresh rate. There is no issue with these specs considering the price (Rs. 22,000).
