Google Pixel 6 Pro Full spec-sheet | Not officially confirmed

With more info expected in coming days, here is the complete spec-sheet of what is known till now.

Since the last two weeks, many speculations have come up about the Google 6 Pro which is still months away from launch.

Still, it is fun to see the renders talk about the new design, the new chipset, the new camera hardware and stuff. So, here’s a full spec-sheet of the Google Pixel 6 Pro with all the information that is available on the internet till now. I don’t guarantee all the information will be 100% correct, but since the speculations are months ahead of launch, there is no harm in believing them for now.

Display

Starting with the Display, the Google Pixel 6 pro has a 6.67 inch large AMOLED display with 120Hz smooth refresh rate, FHD+ resolution and an impressive 86.7% screen-to-body ratio. The leaked images clearly show how thin the side bezels on the Pixel 6 Pro are.

The smartphone has IP68 certification for water and dust resistance and can withstand up to 30 min under 1.5m of water. Also, there is in-display finger print scanner for the first time in the history of Pixel smartphones.

Design

Honestly, I have never liked the Google Pixel designs. In fact I hated them. But I think its time to change my thoughts. This new design on the Pixel 6 series looks fantastic. While every smartphone launching in the market has a single tone back panel with the camera module arranged in some not-so-unique pattern; the Google Pixel 6 Pro has taken the imagination about a smartphone design to the next level. The simple idea that “Hey, let’s make a dual toned back panel and let the full-width horizontal camera island separate them” is amazing.

If I were to personally use this smartphone with this design then I would never want to buy anything other than a pure transparent clean phone case. The smartphone is thin with 8.9mm thickness. However, it is speculated that the camera bump takes the thickness to 11.8 mm. Honestly, that is not so appealing for me. I feel that it would be damn cool to see a flat back panel with the camera module at the same level with the surface and a single glass covering it all.

Speaking of the build, it is not yet confirmed if the smartphone has a usual plastic build or premium glass finish. From the images, it is fairly easy to assume that the whole back is made from glass and the sides are built of Aluminum. But being aware a pixel smartphone, I am afraid if this will come with a plastic back too.

Software and Chipset

Recently, Google had asked Samsung to build a custom chipset for them with the name “Whitechapel”. This new chipset is expected to power the Pixel 6 Pro if manufactured within this year. Straight out of the box, the software would be Android 12 with all the new features and improvements packed into it. The UI experience would be clean and snappy, thanks to the stock Android on the Pixel.

Cameras

Historically, the Google Pixel smartphones have never seen a periscope lens. But things are changing. The new Google pixel 6 Pro is hoped to come with a 8MP f/3.4 periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. Also, there is a 50MP primary sensor and a 16MP ultra-wide angle sensor. Features like Pixel shift, dual-LED flash, HDR, Panorama will be available. The front shooter is a 12MP sensor with auto-HDR.

Till now, there hasn’t been any speculation about the new Pixel smartphones an optical image stabilization. So let’s assume that there is only Gyro-EIS for now. The rear captures 4K@30/60fps or 1080p@30/60/120/240fps while the front shooter captures 1080p@30 fps. I would like to have 4K recording option on the front sensor as well since the smartphone is likely to be a flagship grade device. Also, I really wish to see OIS on both the front an rear cameras.

Sound

The Google Pixel 6 Pro comes with premium grade stereo speakers and no 3.5mm jack. There’s a USB-C port at the bottom to rely upon for listening to music.

Battery

The Pixel 6 pro is likely to pack a 5,000mAh large battery with fast charging, wireless charging and reverse charging options. The maximum power delivery support is not revealed yet.
