OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 8T with cool specs and features and an affordable mid-range price of $749 in U.S.A. the smartphone is available in Ultramarine Green and Lunar Silver colors with dimensions 160.7 x 74.1 x 8.4 mm (6.33 x 2.92 x 0.33 in) and weight 188 grams.
Stunning Display
The smartphone comes with a 6.55 inches FLUID AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 87% and an aspect ratio of 20:9 with 402 ppi density.
The display is of awesome quality and provides amazing content consumption experience and a premium feel. The colors are bright, with good amount of details and contrast. That’s typical of an AMOLED display. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and back. The display also has Always-On-Display feature as well. Always-On-Display (AOD) is a display feature which shows minimum information (Date, Time) when the phone is asleep. This feature lets the user know the time without having to unlock the smartphone.
Powerful performance
OnePlus 8T is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 585) processor which is based on 7 nm+ architecture. Understand that the 7nm+ architecture is the best in the market to this date. Processors based on 7nm+ technology consume less power and are more efficient. The smartphone has a ADRENO 650 GPU with Game Booster. Gaming experience is awesome with this smartphone and you can play heavy games like PUBG, ASPHALT with this mobile without any frame drops or lags. However, heating issue have been reported with the OnePlus 8T smartphone.
The OnePlus 8T runs Android 11 with OxygenOS 11. The OxygenOS experience that the smartphone provides is great and keeps the users inclined towards it.
Awesome Cameras
OnePlus 8T boasts a 48 MP primary camera, a 16 MP Ultra-Wide angle camera, a 5 MP macro sensor for close-up shots and a 2 MP Depth sensor which does the job of bringing that extra sense of life into your image. The camera features Dual-LED flash, HDR and Panorama. There is a flicker sensor as well in the OnePlus 8T which serves the job of producing clean line free videos whenever you are recording a digital screen such as a laptop or a TV. You might have noticed some red and green lines running through your screen when you try recording some information on your computer screen or when you try to take the photo of your electricity bill paid online. The Flicker screen provides solution to this problem. Many buyers were unaware of the flicker screen and they thought of it a LED flash and later complained that the LED flash does not work in OnePlus 8T.
Many people have a misconception about cameras that megapixels are the most important thing when it comes to photography. Let me clear your misunderstanding and tell you that it is the Image Signal Processor (ISP) that matters and not the megapixels. Megapixels provide a better resolution to your images which will prevent pixels from tearing when they are zoomed in. Pixel count does matter but they are secondary.
There is a 32 MP camera sensor at the front for selfies, video calls, and video recording. The camera quality is awesome with very good amount of detail, color accuracy, sharpness and edge detection.
The rear cameras of the OnePlus 8T can shoot 4K videos @30/60 fps and 1080p video recording at 30/60/240 fps. So if you want to record a slow-mo video with the rear cameras select the 240 fps option and you can shoot really slow video. The front camera allows 1080p video recording @ 30fps and 4K video recording is not supported using front camera. The videos are electrically stabilized using Gyro-EIS technology. The front camera features Auto-HDR.
Storage And Memory
OnePlus 8T is available in two storage/RAM configurations: 128GB/8GB and 256GB/12GB. The storage is not expandable via microSD card. This kind of sucks. You need not buy the 12 GB variant if you are not a crazy gamer and you don’t need 256 GB of storage at the same time. If you want to play ASPHALT and run PES, PUBG in the background then you can buy the 12GB variant; otherwise the 8GB variant will be enough for your gaming purposes. I am talking about games because they consume a lot of RAM. There are some video editing softwares as well which require a lot of RAM. More RAM doesn’t really mean that the phone will run faster. A mobile with 8GB RAM will not run 2x faster than a smartphone with 4GB, the thing is that you can run more applications at the same time on a device with more RAM. Anyway it is better to buy the 12GB variant if your budget allows because there are chances that in future many other heavy applications release which require 3GB RAM for their function. Well, nowadays no one is using their smartphones for more than 4 years so 8 GB RAM option might be sufficient.
